Recently, we tried out Barley's Backyard which is located in the heart of Uptown. Backyard took over the old Greene Turtle location. Backyard has the one of the best rooftop venues in Towson, Maryland. As warmer weather comes around, the rooftop outdoor seating opens up which is perfect for dinner and happy hour. Be sure to check out their Instagram updates on weekly specials, new entrees, and other special events. Backyard is a go-to spot for college students and other locals both during the weeknights and weekends. There is always something going on here and it will never be boring during your visit.
Backyard is different from other bars in the area because of their amazing drink deals. They have different flavor crushes, mules, buckets, mojitos, and signature cocktails. Every Monday they have All-Day Happy Hour, and Double Power Hour from 5-6pm and 9-10pm, which means you get 2 drinks for the price of one! Tuesday are also Two-For-One Tuesdays after 9pm, Wednesday has Pitcher Deals, and Thursdays have $4 24 oz. rail drinks!
During our visit, my friends and I all ordered a drink to start off our visit. I ordered an Orange Creamsicle Crush, one of my friends ordered a Blueberry Lemon Mule and the other, a Nikita Nightingale. They both loved their drinks and both told me that they would order them again. As an appetizer, we got the Charcuterie board which is a great for sharing with a group. We could tell that all of the ingredients were fresh, and the bread was lightly toasted, which I thought was a nice touch.
For the entrees, we ordered the Hawaiian Wrap, the Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Buffalo flavored Barley's Bites. We agreed that all three of our entrees were spicy, but just the perfect level of spice. Their menu isn't limited to just wraps, they also have soups, salads, fish, pasta, and burgers. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. At Backyard, there is such a great vibe and it is a nice place locals love to go to, so you will probably run into other friends when you go. If you haven't been there yet, it is a must-go!
